Dan Hooper is a Senior Scientist and the Head of the Theoretical Astrophysics Group at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, and a Professor of Astronomy and Astrophysics at the University of Chicago. His research focuses on the interface between particle physics and cosmology. He is the author of three books for non-technical audiences: Dark Cosmos, Nature’s Blueprint, and At The Edge of Time: Exploring The Mysteries of Our Universe’s First Seconds, which will be published this fall.
In addition to over 200 articles published in scientific journals, Hooper’s writing has appeared in popular magazines such Astronomy, Sky and Telescope, and the New Scientist. He has appeared on television programs including Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman, BBC’s Horizon, BBC World News, and Space’s Deepest Secrets, and on radio programs including NPR’s Science Friday.
